I had this old navy shirt that I hardly wear. The style isn't the most flattering so it needed a makeover.

First, I cut off both sleeves and hemmed the edges. Then I removed the elastic from the bottom seam.

Next, I took the elastic that was in the bottom seam and sewed it to the underside of the back of the shirt. I stretched the elastic while I sewed so that it created a gather.

Here is the finished shirt:

And.......its great for the beach!

Isn't it amazing what a thin strip of elastic on the center back can do to your silhouette? Another wonderful refashion :)
